Biography of Attorney Sarah Greenlee Okuh

Sarah Greenlee Okuh, associate attorney, has been a member of Jennifer I. Peyton, Attorney at Law, LLC, since August of 2010. Her practice is focused on immigration work, and she represents individuals before the Immigration Courts, Board of Immigration Appeals, and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals as well as before the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Her primary areas of representation are in removal defense work, family-based immigration, asylum and refugee law, and naturalization. Sarah is an adjunct faculty member at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she teaches Immigration Law II: Asylum & Refugee Law.

Sarah is a 2010 alumna of the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, from which she graduated magna cum laude and with Order of the Coif honors. Prior to law school, Sarah graduate with honors from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she majored in Philosophy and Psychology and minored in Gender Studies. During law school, Sarah worked for Human Rights Watch in New York City for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland in the Community Advocacy Program, a medical-legal partnership with MetroHealth Hospitals. During law school, Sarah was the Executive Contributing Editor of the Law Review and Editor in Chief of the War Crimes Prosecution Watch. Sarah served as a writing center tutor for Professor Jonathan Gordon; a legal writing honors fellow for Professor Joslyn Kaye; a teaching assistant for Professor Kevin McMunigal; and as a research assistant for Joseph Amon, director of the Health & Human Rights Division of Human Rights Watch.
